Locksmiths should have ever met locked or unlocked VW AUDI BCM modules at work. Basically, cars before 2013 are unlocked while cars after 2013 are locked. But in most cases, the 2013 Audi is indistinguishable.
How to judge AUDI BCM is locked or not?
1.Check the SN on BCM module after disassembly.
2.Connect VVDI PROG, Audi Solder Free Adapter & BCM module. Check VVDI PROG if there’s same SN in locked options(LOCK-BCM2-1 ADAPTER/ LOCK-BCM2-2 ADAPTER)
3.If has, the BCM is locked. We can only use the VVDI AUDI BCM2 Adapter to read.
4.if not, we have to dismantle BCM module to find out CPU model(eg. CPU model is 3634).
5.Check VVDI PROG if there’s same CPU model in unlocked options. If yes, the BCM is unlocked. We can either use Solder-free Adapter or wiring method to read it.
6.If not, the BCM is unknown. DO NOT try to read it at will. It’s suggested to ask for manufacturer. Misoperation may cause data loss and cannot be recovered.
