Is it worth buying Xhorse Dolphin to replace Big Condor?

Key Cutting Machine

One locksmith asked: Any update on Xhorse Dolphin key cutting machine, thinking of getting one myself. I had the original big Condor years ago and it was ok, sometimes unreliable and wouldn’t cut correctly. Is it worth buying or am I going to have the same issues as the original Condor?

Experienced locksmith replied:
Xhorse Dolphin Key Cutting machine is ok, best buy for sure. no regret after buying.

This is the only problem @ Weasel3 (DK Veteran) is finding with the Dolphin machine:
New VA2 keys, fails often decoding on the Dolphin+.
Need to take a new look, of the result. And compare it to the blade. And adjust manually.
This on the smart car, and also on the PSA models. And Renault keys/cards
Annoying issue.
(smart to have a separate blade testing, door/ignition. Before cut, a more valuable key).
But this I have experienced on several different machines. Not by same brand.
The old version VA2, seems to work every time.

And he updated…
I see some have problems with battery.
But it is OK for me. Not experienced any problems, with that.

Used to have problems in the early days cutting HU64. When it was released. But it is quite fine now. (Sometimes needs to cut twice, to get I work on this one).
Many keys it fails decoding, I just use universal cut.
But, I have cut many blades, testing this.
Which of the blades is better doing the standard, or this way.
Cut by bitting on TOY43 all keys lost. I had to do the same on a different machine. To make the lock go smooth.
But it is regularly updates. So I guess its tweaked often. To find all issues and problems.
The VA2 case it’s not long ago. So this one is still there. Been there for a long time.
