This is a tutorial on how to read & unlock Volkswagen MQB48 NEC35xx immo data with Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Plus. Needs to activate VAG MQB License & disassemble instrument from vehicle. You’ll also need to lift the pin from PCB or cut pin connections while reading data(*See the guidance at the end of this article)
1. Read MQB IMMO Data
Immo programming >> VW >> Select by type >> MQB instrument immo system >> Instrument – MQB48(VDO/JCI- NEC35xx locked) >> Start programming
Disclaimer:
When using this function to read data, you need to Lift the PIN from PCB or Cut PIN Connections. Please operate carefully, wire accurately, and pay attention to the protective dashboard. It is recommended to learn how to Lift the PIN from PCB and Cut PIN connections by yourself.
Press “OK”.
This function needs to be connected to the network, please make sure that network connection is normal. Press “OK”.
Read IMMO data >> Use the programmer to read data directly
Here we can check the wiring connection diagram. There are 2 ways to read immo data as mentioned before. In the case, I’m gonna use to lift PIN from PCB method.
After successfully connecting, press
Read >> Continue
VVDI Key Tool Plus takes about 5 minutes to finish.
Read succeeded.
Save MQB – LOCK(D70F35xx) file.
Calculating, it will takes about 5-10 minutes according to the network situation. Please wait…
Read immo data successfully, press “OK” to start saving.
Immo data can be used to generate dealer keys and key learning.
Save file success.
* Pay attention at this time, the saved immo file is locked and not supported to use. Please unlock it before any operations.
2. Unlock MQB IMMO Data
Read IMMO data >> Load the read programmer file >> Selected MQB – LOCK(D70F35xx) file >> Open
Calculating, it will takes about 5-10 minutes…
Read immo data successfully.
This is the final immo data, save it.
Go to “Generate dealer key – Load immo data” for a test.
As we can see, the final immo data was already unlocked and can be used for key adding or all keys lost programming.
How to Lift the PIN from PCB?
1.Locate the pin to be lifted(FVDD) according to wiring diagram.
2.You need to use a heat gun to assist: set the temperature to 355℃ and the wind to the minimum, point the muzzle of the air gun at the pin to be lifted.
3.Wait for the pin to be heated, insert a blade into the bottom foot, gently lift it up. Pay attention to the pin not lifting too high and ensure that it leaves the PCB.
4.Wait for the pin to cool, weld a thin wire or varnished wire from the pin, use adhesive paper to secure it on the backside to prevent shaking.
5.After reading MCU, remove the welded wire from pin(FVDD), press down on the upswing with a tweezer, then heat the pin to weld to PCB with electric iron.

How to Cut PIN Connections?
1.Locate the pin connections to be cut according to wiring diagram, cut lines according to the marked position and shape.
2.Do not use too much force when cutting, cause it may damage the circuit under PCB.
3.After cutting, check the FVDD test points and other points are disconnected.
4.After reading MCU, the cut position needs to be restored.
