Xhorse BCM2 Audi Solder-Free Adapter arrived me for some days, and today I have chance to use it to program key for one 2016 Q5 Smart Key with All Keys Lost situation.
After opening the door, you need to lower the rear seats before you can get into the trunk to remove the BCM module. With Xhorse BCM2 Audi Solder-Free Adapter and VVDI Prog, I started to read the data.
The whole process went smoothly including the DATA1 data to read and write the service mode data, also to generate and learn the dealer key. As the customer’s request is that the new key must support online service as the same as the original factory key, I use a dedicated smart 754J that can change the ID.
All the work was completed in less than half an hour, and the customer checked the remote without any problems, then the customer drove away happily after payment.
However, after 2 hours, the customer called me and said that the rear trunk could not be opened, manually turned on, remote turned on, all the buttons in the car didn’t work anymore!
But when the driver drove away, it was all tested. Why does this problem occur? Xhorse BCM adapter reading problem? Lost programming?
After the customer drove the car into my workshop, I used the Audi diagnostic tool to read the 05 control unit and found a bunch of faults, it was indeed impossible to open the trunk in various methods. Finally, I climbed from the rear seat to the trunk again and turn on the emergency switch, and disassemble the BCM module again, only to find out the positioning socket port on the BCM module is loose.
